CFMEU NSW EBA

The CFMEU along with other building unions campaign for Union Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs) on all sites. Our EBAs provide for wages well in excess of minimum award rates plus extra allowances, superannuation, redundancy and insurance.

We encourage all workers on all sites to demand that all bosses sign Union EBAs. If we allow bosses on sites without Union EBAs cheap labour will spread and undermine all of our standards.

Construction workers take up the Climate Change challenge

The debate on Australia pricing carbon pollution rages – in Parliament and in the media.

Unions have a responsibility to get involved to protect our members’ best interests. The CFMEU respects blue collar workers concerns about their jobs and the rising costs of living. That’s why the union’s bottom line is: that jobs must be protected and low and middle income earners must be permanently compensated in any pollution pricing plan.

Wages Information

The CFMEU knows that it is important for our members to know their correct wage rates and the allowances to which they are entitled. It is also important to ensure you are being paid the correct rates for superannuation and ACIRT.
These wage rates and allowances are the legal minimum entitlements for workers under these awards.

Quick thinking crane crew averts catastrophe

Untold numbers of workers and passers-by might have been seriously injured in central Sydney on Monday November 9, were it not for the quick thinking of a crane operator and his dogger.

The incident occurred around 8.00am on the Parkview Pty Ltd site at 710 George Street – just as the Haymarket area of the city was starting to buzz with workers and commuters.

The Favco tower crane operator was unloading a 6 tonne site shed on to the back of a semi-trailer, parked in the loading area at the front of the site.
