Industrial/Legal Services

The Industrial Services area is made up of both the Wage Claims Department and the Legal Department. Both are highly skilled and qualified, achieving excellent results for financial members.

Wage Claims Department

CFMEU NSW Wage Claims Department provides expertise in all aspects of employee entitlements under many types of employment contracts, including Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and the Fair Work Act.

The Wage Claims Department plays a key role in recovering unpaid wages and entitlements for union members.

Apprentices

Apprentices are the future of the industry and the CFMEU supports high levels of apprentices on building sites. CFMEU NSW takes great pride in assisting and representing apprentices.

Being new to the workplace, a lot of young workers are not aware of their rights and entitlements. Some employers take advantage of apprentices as cheap labour.

The trade union movement has an important role to educate and organise young workers on their rights and responsibilities at the workplace.
