Alimak 650 Hoists Alert

Alimak Hek A.B Sweden has issued a Safety Alert after major concerns regarding the use of Alimak Scando 650 Hoists.

It’s feared many of these types of hoists are using old Scando Type III Mast Towers, which have been locally modified to suit the Alimak 650.

This alert is intended to remind companies and Alimak operators that only Scando A50 Mast Towers are to be used with Alimak Scando 650 Hoists.

These have been designed to match the higher performances of the 650 hoists.

Wages Information

The CFMEU knows that it is important for our members to know their correct wage rates and the allowances to which they are entitled. It is also important to ensure you are being paid the correct rates for superannuation and ACIRT.
These wage rates and allowances are the legal minimum entitlements for workers under these awards.

Training

The CFMEU is a strong supporter of training for construction workers.

The union advocates for training - not only for young apprentices and trainees coming into the industry. Experienced workers are also encouraged to get recognition for skills acquired over the years or to upskill to acquire other tickets or trade qualifications.
