Union delegate sacked
Delegates are the Union’s strength on construction job sites. Their role is to defend and promote the interests of construction workers. This sometimes puts them at odds with their employer and they can risk retaliation from the employer. There should be no place in the industry for employers who have no respect for the role Unions and their delegates play in this industry.
After 18 years’ service to St Hilliers, Union delegate Warren Whitney was one of four workers who were retrenched due to a lack of work.
Workers Health Centre
The Workers Health Centre was established in the early 1970s and is an independent not-for-profit health and safety centre for NSW workers.
