Creating a Page

  1. Select Create > Page in the Drupal administrator menu (in the top left corner).
  2. Enter a Title, e.g. ‘Home Page’.
  3. Main content: Place your main content here.
  4. Image field: Use this field if you wish to have an image/s on your page. Click browse to browse the image you want to upload.
  5. Menu link title: This is the title you would like the title to be dislayed as. It is the link text corresponding to this item, that should appear in the menu. Leave blank if you do not wish to add this post to the menu.
  6. Parent item: This is where you would like your page to be displayed in the menu.  Please select the item you wish your new page to be displayed under. The maximum depth for an item and all its children is fixed at 9. Some menu items may not be available as parents if selecting them would exceed this limit.
  7. Weight: Where you would like your item to be ranked in the menu list. This is optional. The heavier items will sink and the lighter items will be positioned nearer the top.

Steps for adding new pages that will link to body-text in other pages:

  1. add page title and body
  2. add parent  link
  3. choose whether or not it has a menu link title ie. if the page is going to appear on the site menu and the title of that link; leave this space blank if page is only to link to body of another page.  NOTE if no menu link title is entered the page will be 'lost' unless you keep track of its URL by copying it before exiting page view as in 5 below.
  4. Save page
  5. Copy the URL of the page before moving out of the page view
  6. Open parent page for item - highligh link in text, click the link icon and copy the URL into the link window.
