Creating an In the Press item

  1. Enter a Title, e.g. ‘CFMEU has a new website’.
  2. Branch: Select the appropriate branch that the press article belongs to. If using a branch login, this option will not appear.
  3. Link: In the field, enter the full URL of the site wish to link to or in the Upload field
  4. If adding a document, the maximum file size you can upload is 8mb and the allowed extensions are: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .rtf or .txt. Please note the preferred file extension is .pdf. To upload a document click 'browse'.  A 'file upload' window should pop-up. Select the document you wish to upload onto the website and then click 'open'. Remember to click 'upload' to upload your document.
  5. If you are adding an In the Press link on the day it is published, then that is all you have to do: click Save and the link with appear on the home page. Test that it is working from the home page to ensure no errors in URL.
  6. If you are adding an In the Press story a few days after it was published, or uploading additional stories on the same day and wish to maintain a particular order in the arrangement, then use the authoring tab - bottom left on the Create a Press item page.
    To add a story published earlier, simply enter the date of the original eg. story published Feb 10, 2010 being added to website on Feb 20, 2010 should have authored date of: 2010-2-10 - it will then appear in appropriate position by date sequence in the Press Archive.
    To add a second story later on the same day, that you want to appear under the top story on the list, adjust the time details in authoring tab so that it will appear in the correct spot. Eg two stories on Feb 20, 2010 - story 1 authored at 2010-02-20 07-00 Second story uploaded at 2pm but you want to run second on list of In the Press items - author as 2010-02-20 06.00.
