To maintain consistent quality in images and style across the website the following measurements are required for photos. Note as rule for all photos  — please use Photoshop or equivalent program to crop and resize photos before posting to them.  Avoid uploading image files of more than 1MB (apart from PDFs of docs). Small adjustments can be made to image size in WYSIWIG system. But all cropping must be done in Photoshop or equivalent.

Photo galleries/albums

All photos should be resized to 100 dpi and 600 pixels width for horizontal pics (height adjusted automatically to match); or 600 pixels high (for vertical pics). This will give pic of appropriate size for uploading to system that also looks good in gallery large image space.

Testimonials – national home page

All photos should be cropped first to suit horizontal frame, and then resized to 100 dpi and width of 525 pixels x 250 pixels high.

Note: Photos are cropped automatically from the bottom of the frame. Photos higher than 250 pixels will be accepted by WYSIWIG and cropped accordingly. Further cropping in Photoshop to get close to 250 pixels height (without losing pixels on width) is advised if there is important information in the bottom of photo frame.

Note 2: Only good quality photos (sharp, interestingly framed images) should be used in this Testimonials section.

New pages – National site

To maintain consistency, photos should be resized to 100 dpi  and 230 pixels width and aligned right.

Thumbnail size pics – aligned left – may be more appropriate for some pages eg. Member Payment Options where 50 pixels width was preferred. News pages – National & Branches

Photos inserted through the Image browser for auto placement on page (ie not using the tree icon) should be 100 dpi  and 184 pixels width x 202 pixels high. Please stick to minimum requirements for consistency on page (centre column is not wide enough for bigger images).

Note:  System seems more sensitive to height than width – so get image to 202 pixels height and the width will auto adjust.  Always check that pic width is more than 184 pixels when resize by height, before leaving Photoshop or equivalent.  

Again – Crop pic first before adjusting size to ensure no important details are cut in auto cropping by WYSIWIG.  Re-crop if necessary if size adjustments make the pic too small in either height or width.

Campaign pages – National

Square image: This is the image shown in the campaign block throughout the site on the left-hand side and the thumbnail in the campaign teaser page. Allowed extensions are: .jpg, .gif and .png. Images must be between  100 dpi  and 180x162 (dimensions on the website) pixels and 800x800. Provided the image is this size or larger the system will resize and crop to the required square.  See general note on image size above.

Wide image: This is not a required field,  but to ensure quality of image, please do not rely on the system to resize and crop the square image to the required rectangle. This is the main image shown in the campaign page. The maximum file size is 4mb – see note above on size. Allowed extensions are: .jpg, .gif and .png.  
Images must be larger than 590x184 pixels. The wide image will be automatically resized to 590px wide by 184px high. If you want to control the quality and cropping of this image you need to upload an image which has exactly these dimensions.

Campaign pages - Branches

Large image: This is a required field. This is the main image shown in the branch home page. The large image will be automatically resized and cropped to 565px wide by 362px high. To control the quality and cropping of this image, you need to upload an image which has exactly these dimensions.

Square image: This is a required field. This is the image shown in the campaign block throughout the site on the left-hand side and the thumbnail in the campaign teaser page. Allowed extensions are: .jpg, .gif and .png. Images must be between 180x162 (dimensions on the website) pixels and 800x800. Provided the image is this size or larger, the system will resize and crop to the required square.
