Travel Insurance
Eligible Financial Members* of the CFMEU, NSW and their accompanying Immediate Family* are insured for:
- Interstate travel whilst engaged on private pleasure travel by air, rail, motor vehicle or sea; and
- International travel from point of departure to the intended destination, associated leisure travel and return

Note: The policy is designed to cater to those travellers fit and capable of travelling at the time of undertaking the travel. Should a traveller undertake travel against doctor’s advice, or should it be deemed that the traveller should have consulted with a doctor prior to travelling, it is likely you will not be covered.
To remain covered you must remain financial for the period of your travel. To ensure that you remain financial you can pay your union dues by direct debit.

Travel Insurance - Important Definitions
- Eligible Financial Member means a person who is a financial member of the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union, New South Wales Divisional Branch , Construction and General Division. This is a member who has paid full current dues, or is on direct debit or payroll deductions; or is registered as medically unfit or unemployed and paying reduced union fees. This also means a person who is an eligible member of CFMEU Solidarity. To be covered, a person must be an eligible financial member at the time of making a claim. This benefit does not apply to retired members or members who are not paying union fees or unfinancial member
- Immediate Family includes only the spouse (including de facto) and any immediate dependents of the Eligible Financial Member
- Immediate Dependent includes the Eligible Financial Member’s unmarried dependent children who are under 19 years of age and living with the Eligible Financial Member, or who are under 25 years of age and are full time students at an accredited institution of higher learning and are primarily dependent upon the Eligible Financial Member for maintenance and support. This includes step-children and legally adopted children
- Accompanying means that the Immediate family member must be travelling with the Eligible Financial member to be covered
