
Construction Training Opportunity for Indigenous Workers
Calling all Koori workers in NSW who are interested in working in the construction industry. The final Job Ready course for 2011 starts at Yaama Training Centre Darlington on Monday October 17. There are some places still available.
Attend the Information Day on Wednesday 28 September 2011 at 10.00am at Yaama Training Centre, 255 Wilson Street Darlington. Download the attached PDF for details of the 2011 Courses and location map.
The 8-week, full-time course runs daily from 8.00am to 2.30pm. It includes training in Carpentry, Formwork, Plastering, Concreting, Bricklaying, Plumbing, Scaffolding Forklift Operations and OH&S (Induction Card) and Senior First Aid.
“The course can lead to employment in the construction industry. We still have positions to fill,” said Rohan Tobler, Recruitment, Placement & Mentoring Manager of the Aboriginal Employment Program at Eveleigh, Sydney. “Any Kooris who are interested in working in the construction industry should come to the Information Day on September 28 to see if this course is your chance to get a new start in work and life.”
