Indigenous Workers & Training
The CFMEU NSW promotes the training and employment of Indigenous Australians and Torres Strait Islanders in the construction industry.
One of the major achievements was the development and establishment of accredited training programmes for Indigenous people through TAFE. The Job Ready Program was a collective industry wide effort, initiated in the second half of 2003.
The NSW Branch is involved in specific initiatives to support indigenous workers and their communities.

The CFMEU and its predecessor unions have a long history of fighting for justice for Australia's Indigenous communities and continues to support those struggles today.
The union's goal is an industry where Indigenous workers have the same opportunities as all other workers.
