The CFMEU is one of the few trade unions that have a training company. The company coordinates the provision of a broad cross section of training for both management and on site workers.

COMET Training is the CFMEU NSW training company. It was established in March 1996 and is jointly operated by the CFMEU with the Master Builders Association of NSW.

In addition to Occupational Health and Safety courses including OH&S induction (green card) and first aid, vocational and WorkCover NSW ticketed training is undertaken eg. forklift, scaffolding, rigging, hoist, elevated and platform etc.

COMET Training is located at 8 Railway Street Lidcombe adjacent to the CFMEU Head Office.
